- 1 min read
Project Overview
A road resurfacing scheme was carried out in Hilton to restore a carriageway that had fallen into seriously poor condition.
The existing surface was worn, uneven, and long overdue for attention, requiring a full resurfacing solution to improve both durability and ride quality. The works involved laying a new 40mm surface course, delivered efficiently within a tight one-day programme. A Vögele Super 1303-3i paver was used to achieve a consistent, high-quality finish throughout.
Project Details
Location: Hilton
Client: Local Authority
Area Paved: 3,000m²
Programme: 1 day
Machine: Vögele Super 1303-3i
Material: AC10 Asphalt (40mm surface course)
The Challenge
The primary challenge was the condition of the existing carriageway, which was heavily worn and uneven, requiring careful preparation to ensure a suitable base for resurfacing.
In addition, the project was constrained by a one-day programme, meaning all works needed to be completed efficiently without compromising on quality or finish.
The Solution
The Vögele Super 1303-3i was selected for its reliability and ability to deliver a consistent surface finish, even when working over previously uneven ground.
A well-coordinated approach to planning and execution ensured continuous material flow and efficient paving, allowing the team to maximise productivity within the limited timeframe.
The Results
The resurfacing works were successfully completed within the one-day programme, transforming the road from a worn and uneven surface into a smooth, durable carriageway.
The finished result provides improved ride quality and longevity, delivering a high-quality outcome built to withstand ongoing use.
