Another Day. Another road.

Yesterday took us to Derby, where we were on hire to Derby City Council to help restore a road that was well overdue some attention.

The weather wasn’t exactly on our side. It was cold, damp, and drizzly, the kind of conditions that can easily slow a job down, but once the day got going, it didn’t stop the team. With Derek in the planer and Archie in the tipper, everything moved from the start.

As the surface was stripped back, it became clear just how much work the road needed. Step by step, the old surface was removed, clearing the way for a fresh start and a smoother road to be laid.

Machines working in sync, clear communication, and a shared focus on doing the job properly. By the end of the shift, the road was fully prepped and ready for resurfacing, another essential piece of work completed for the city.

Just a solid day on site, showing that a bit of bad weather doesn’t stop good work, and that careful preparation is what makes the finished result last.
