2. ProblemFriel Construction required a reliable paving solution to lay an 80mm base course at Ashbourne Airfield. The project needed a high-output paver capable of maintaining consistent mat quality and width, while operating efficiently within an active airfield environment and tight programme.

3. Solution (AP Pavers approach)AP Pavers supplied a Vögele 1803-3i paver on hire, complete with a skilled operator. The machine was fitted with a 250mm extension to achieve the required paving width and deliver consistent results across the base course.

  • Base course laid to an 80mm depth

  • Continuous paving achieved with smooth material flow and consistent levels
